| Use of Green Dot MoneyPaks, Vanilla Reloads on the rise |
 Over the years, wire transfer has been the method of choice for fraudsters looking to get paid by their victims. Recently, however, there has been an uptick in consumer complaints to Fraud.org reporting that scammers are requesting the use of Green Dot MoneyPaks or Vanilla Reloads. These payment methods mean untraceable cash for fraudsters.
One victim -- we'll call him "Chris" -- recently shared his story with us:
"The man called my place of business to say that my previous payment on my bill didn't go through and that my business's electricity would be shut off that day. ... He requested that we pay by Green Dot MoneyPaks. He even called me back to make sure I was going to pay it. He said I would get a call in 30 minutes from [the] reimbursement center for the card fees. I then realized that this was a scam and it was too late."

Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency along
with open source software project. Inspired by simply and technically an
equivalent to Bitcoin. Litecoin was introduced in 2011 with the goal to be the
‘silver’ to Bitcoin’s ‘gold’. Compared to Bitcoin, Litecoin features faster
transaction verification times (2. 5 minutes) and improved storage
effectiveness. At the time of writing, Litecoin has got the highest market cap
associated with any mined cryptocurrency, right after bitcoin. Litecoin is
designed to create more coins than Bitcoin (84 million total) and generate them
four times faster. Transactions confirmation happen every 2 .5 minutes, rather
than every 10 minutes just as with Bitcoin.
“Litecoin versus Bitcoin is like Facebook
versus Google Plus,” says Litecoin creator Charlie Lee, 36, who was
working with Google when he released the Litecoin code to the world in October
2011. “It would be hard for Plus to overtake Facebook. But if something
catastrophic happens to Bitcoin, I could see Litecoin positioned to overtake
it.” says Lee.

TOKYO, Dec 8 - Japanese stocks edged up to a 7-1/2-year high on Monday as a downward revision in third quarter GDP figures was offset by the weak yen and optimism over the U.S. economy after it had strong jobs data. The Nikkei benchmark ended 0.1 percent higher at 17,935.64, the highest closing price since July 2007. In early trade, the Nikkei touched 18,030.83. The broader Topix gained 0.1 percent to 1,447.58, while the JPX-Nikkei Index 400 also advanced 0.1 percent to 13,148.
